Mutable signs – Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Sagittarius – are feeling this one the most. This Virgo New Moon sets the tone for eclipse season, which commences with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 7.

To add to it, Saturn – the planet of discipline and hard work, currently retrograde – will re-enter Pisces and, once again, impact mutable signs the most. Anything that has been accomplished and completed might require revision.

But back to the Virgo New Moon. This lunation is at 0° Virgo – a critical degree, where the sign’s energy is pure and raw. And here’s the kicker: it’s the first of two Virgo New Moons, the second falling on September 21 at 29° Virgo. That one will be a solar eclipse, thanks to the South Node conjunction. The 29th degree is another critical degree in astrology – the anaretic degree of completion filled with a sense of urgency as it’s the last degree of the sign. The charge is so strong, it can lead to drastic outcomes. Given that it’s an eclipse, the results will bring on fated events and changes since both the 29th degree and the South Node are all about releasing past-life, karmic patterns, and the grip they hold over you. Once handled, you can start afresh.

New Moons are the times to recalibrate your conscious, higher Self with your subconscious, emotional Self.

Virgo energy is meticulous, practical, and service-oriented. Virgo doesn’t cut corners. Virgo edits, perfects, and refines, always seeking for ways to heal, improve, and serve. With this New Moon, there’s a strong urge to clean up what’s messy, simplify what’s complicated, and return to routines that nourish body and mind. Virgo reminds us that small steps and consistent care build lasting results.

The Aug New Moon forms challenging aspects to Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto making this lunation a heavy hitter. Feelings of guilt or remorse about the past, or a sense of powerlessness, can surface. Avoid acting impulsively; think things through.

On a positive, there is support from a harmonious Minor Grand Trine formed between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Also, the New Moon is favorably aligned with fixed star Regulus in the constellation of Leo (due to precession of the equinoxes). It is one of the four Royal stars and is considered a symbol of courage, glory, power, honor, and riches.

August’s New Moon is the opening act which sets the stage for major changes, September’s eclipse the finale. Channel its energy ethically, ecologically, and with humility to rip the benefits of this potent lunation.

While everyone will be impacted by this energy, mutable signs and especially those with major placements close to 0° Virgo will be on a new path, if they are willing to flip the script and write their own narrative.
